Southend 10K 2019
Unusually for this race, we just had one runner representing us today. I think you lot must have had an inside track on the weather!!! But Jo Trower you did us proud, I know you had a difficult race, but knowing you would be by yourself you had the guts to enter & run it anyway. I admire that, it's not easy coming back from a lengthy injury, but you showed determination, gritted your teeth & dug in. Conditions were hard, the wind was brutal in parts & took a lot out of you for most of the race.
& Viv. We needed you guys today!
My race was okay, I had a rotten cold all week, and still suffering from a hamstring niggle resulting in no speed work for 4 weeks. So sensibly I took my expectations down, and after turning into the wind I then took them down again! I haven't run a 10k race for over 2 years and it really showed. Hopefully will improve by the next one in Nov. I finished in 55.01 and Jo 1.22.38. Box ticked on to the next one
